Mathsketball

  1. Students all stand in a circle around one student who has a piece of paper crumpled into a ball.
  2. The students standing around the student in the center all make circles with their arms (as if each student is a basketball hoop) and in their hands hold out a piece of paper with a number on it so that the student in the middle can see it.
  3. The teacher (or a fellow student) will say a number out loud and the student in the middle must shoot the crumpled piece of paper into the arms of multiple students whose number all add up to the number given (e.g. the number given is 14 so the students shoots the paper ball into hoops of others holding up 7, 5, 2).
  4. Do this with multiple students, and get more complicated if necessary (multiplication, etc).
